Against the Clock cycling competition

During the Aug. 5th “Against the Clock” cycling competition, organized by the La Roca Cycling Club along with the Puerto Peñasco Municipal Athletic Institute, Roberto Abril, Jesús Manuel Sánchez, and Abraham Josúe Blanco won their events in road, mountain biking, and children’s respectively.
Luis Fernando León of the La Roca club reported these results, noting that despite the heat the race drew out more than 50 competitors from the region. The race consisted of 5 kilometers against the clock and 25 kilometers of free ride, with categories for children and veterans, as well as men’s and women’s open.
The next race, a night race, will be this Saturday, August 11 beginning at 8 p.m. with the departure and finishing points between Blvd. Benito Juarez and Blvd. Lopez Portillo in front of the Police Station. It will consist of a 15 km. round trip race, passing by the area of La Cholla.
Fernando López Trasviña, Director of the Municipal Athletic Institute, recognized the efforts of the La Roca cycling club in promoting the sport of cycling and in holding local competitions; stating they would continue to support La Roca in carrying out cycling events in Puerto Peñasco.
CON GRAN ÉXITO SE REALIZO LA CARRERA CICLISTA CONTRA RELOJ LA ROCA 2012 EN PUERTO PEÑASCO
Puerto Peñasco Sonora, Mex… 7/Agosto/2012… Roberto Abril en la categoría de Ruta, Jesús Manuel Sánchez en Montaña y Abraham Josué Blanco en Infantiles; fueron los ganadores de la primera carrera contra Reloj “La Roca 2012” el pasado Domingo 5 de Agosto; evento que se realizó entre los Bulevares Godoy y Juan Aldama de la Colonia Oriente y fue organizado por el Club Ciclista la Roca, en coordinación con el Instituto Municipal del Deporte de Puerto Peñasco.
Lo anterior fue dado a conocer por Luis Fernando León, Presidente de dicho Club, quien dijo que a pesar del Calor, la carrera conto con mas de 50 competidores de la región y consistió en 5 kilómetros de desafío a cronometro y 25 kilómetros de recorrido libre, donde también participaron las categorías infantiles a, b y c; veteranos, femenil y varonil abierta.
Luis Fernando León, mencionó que el Club La Roca hace una atenta invitación a los diversos clubes y ciclistas aficionados de Peñasco y región, para que participen en la Carrera Nocturna, LA ROCA, este próximo Sábado 11 de Agosto, a partir de las ocho de la Noche, donde el punto de salida y meta será entre los bulevares Benito Juárez y López Portillo, frente a la Comandancia de Policía, donde se realizara un recorrido de 15 kilometro ida y vuelta, pasando por el área de la Choya.
Fernando López Trasviña, Director del Instituto Municipal del Deporte de Puerto Peñasco, reconoció el esfuerzo que realiza el Club Ciclista La Roca, al promover el deporte de los pedales en la localidad y al realizar competencias y paseos familiares; por tal motivo dijo que se continuara apoyando al Club La Roca en la realización de eventos ciclistas para nuestro puerto.
