A great Saturday of golf in Rocky Point!
By Plinio Rivero
Last Saturday, June 22nd, along with The Club Golf Course at Laguna del Mar we organized a day of friendly golf to enjoy the super high tide accompanying the weekend’s Super Moon. As the tide came in, sea water filled the beautiful lagoons encircling The Club course.
Local players showed up to tee off for the friendly 2 man scramble style mini-tournament, drawing between A and B handicap players to make it more fun and competitive. Throughout the day, we just enjoyed playing golf in Rocky Point! When the high tide came, the course looked spectacular and there was no room for bad shots, since the water on the fairways reached up 4 feet above its normal level. Just amazing! The winning team was led by Luis Torres, Peninsula de Cortés Golf course Director, and Gregg Bialy local golf enthusiast with a net of 2 under par, 70 strokes in two rounds around the 9 hole golf course. In addition to a side pot, the winning team were given one month memberships to The Club at Laguna del Mar.
To keep Rocky Point golfers playing together more often, an invitation was extended to join up at 1 p.m. on the 4th of July for a friendly Skins game at The Links golf course of Las Palomas. If you are inteterested in joining this group for upcoming golf get-togethers, just let us know at info@rockypoint360.com.
Thanks guys for joining us and having fun while playing golf in Rocky Point! Enjoy the pictures taken by our very own inspiring golfer Ariel Gonzalez who somehow was able to keep his camera going instead of running to get his own clubs. Gracias, Ariel!
