On Wednesday, September 12th, the organizing committee for the upcoming Grand Baseball Fiesta Puerto Peñasco 2012 met with local press to discuss the organization, scope, and expectations of the event, which is set for this coming Oct. 2nd and 3rd.

“We want it be an event at the level of the previous ones we have organized,” commented the President of the organizing committee, Engineer Terencio Gutiérrez Valenzuela. “Now, the challenge to overcome is tough as in the past there had been two teams, but this time we are bringing in four and [the event] will take place over two days, so expenses are doubled. But we know that with the support of all of you, the press, and people who really enjoy good events, we are going to be able to cover all expenses and have additional funds to go to the Red Cross and the Municipal DIF. We anticipate topping our earnings from last year, or at least match them.”

Due to logistics, it took about a month to organize the event as they were looking for sponsors and/or special rates. “There really are no economic resources to help progress,” indicated Ing. Gutierrez, “and the members of the committee are not paid. All their work is truly from the heart. Fortunately, we have had a good response.”

“We also need to have the stadium in optimum conditions, security, do promotion, a press conference, pamphlets, signs, tickets, etc.” “Fortunately,” he explained, “we are working with basically the same team as on prior occasions and when it comes down to it, it’s helpful that everyone knows what to do. The support coming from the invited teams themselves has also been noteworthy as they are only requesting transportation, housing, meals, and laundry service for their uniforms.”

There are two games set for each day of the Grand Baseball Event: one at 4 p.m. and the other at 8 p.m.  Tickets are as follows: Seats 180 pesos, general entry 100 pesos or 70 pesos for children (4 to 10 years). Prices are per day.

As to the quality of the games, the four teams lined up are from the Mexican Pacific League, with national and international managers. “We have players with experience playing AAA in the U.S. and Mexico.” Don’t miss out! This will be a guaranteed show at the Francisco León García Stadium.

Gran Fiesta “baseballera”

Este miércoles 12 de septiembre el comité organizador de la gran fiesta de baseball Puerto Peñasco 2012, donde se habló de la organización, el alcance y las expectativas de este gran evento, lo cual se llevará a cabo los días 2 y 3 de octubre.

-Queremos que sea un evento a la altura de los anteriores eventos que hemos organizado- comentó el presidente del comité organizador el Ing.Terencio Gutiérrez Valenzuela – Ahorita el reto a vencer es fuerte pues, en ocasiones anteriores habían sido dos equipos, ahora traemos cuatro y van a ser dos días entonces los gastos son el doble, pero sabemos que con el apoyo de todos ustedes, de los medios de comunicación, y de la gente que sabe de buenos eventos, vamos a tener la capacidad de solventar todos los gastos y tener una utilidad que va a ir destinada a la Cruz Roja y al DIF municipal. Esperamos superar las ganancias del año pasado y si no por lo menos igualarla.

Tardaron en organizar este evento alrededor de un mes por todo el asunto de logística, ya que se busca el patrocinio y / o las tarifas especiales, pues no hay el recurso económico para avanzar, incluso señaló el Ing, Gutiérrez que los integrantes del comité no perciben salario alguno, que toda esta labor es de puro corazón. Afortunadamente tenemos mucha respuesta favorable.

Por otro lado también se requiere poner el estadio en óptimas condiciones, contar con seguridad, hacer la promoción del evento , la rueda de prensa, los panfletos, las lonas, los boletos. Por fortuna , explica , que es el mismo equipo (básicamente) con el que han contado en las ocasiones anteriores y cuando llega el momento, ayuda mucho que ya cada quién sabe que debe hacer.

Por parte de los equipos el apoyo también fue notable, pues solo pidieron transportación, hospedaje, comida y servicio de lavandería para los uniformes.

Los juegos serán dos por día; un juego es a las 4 de la tarde y el otro a las 8. Los precios de los boletos van a ser: Butaca o palco 180 pesos , 100 en entrada general y 70 pesos a los niños (de 4 a 10 años). Estos precios son por el día (los dos juegos).

La calidad de los juegos vienen los cuatro equipos titulares de la Liga Mexicana del Pacífico, con managers nacionales e internacionales, tenemos jugadores con la experiencia de la AAA en Estados Unidos y mexicano. Así que no se lo pueden perder. Un espectáculo garantizado en el Estadio Francisco León García.
