Though not specifically a tourist service, a new company will soon begin to operate flights twice a week between Puerto Peñasco – Hermosillo, confirms Héctor Vázquez del Mercado, President of the Puerto Peñasco Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCV).
The aerial service will be carried out by the company Servicios Aéreos MIRA, based out of Aguascalientes, and directed primarily to executives.
According to information from the airline itself, the new flights could begin operating twice a week now during the month of March. The single engine Kodiak turbo-propeller plane has a capacity for up to eight passengers.
The tentative cost for a round trip flight Hermosillo – Puerto Peñasco / Puerto Peñasco – Hermosillo) is 5000 pesos as this is an executive service that can only take a limited number of passengers.
The airline, which initially began in order to offer services for mining staff, has come to fill the need of emergency transportation as well as to provide an option for flights.
