Encántame Resorts officially breaks ground on Encántame Soleil

The Encántame Soleil project of Encántame Resorts just east of Puerto Peñasco held the official groundbreaking for its first tower “Rendezvous” on July 3rd, though early sales had begun Oct. 1st last year.

Sonora Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño, together with MG Developments CEO Miguel Guevara Askar, Sonora Tourism Secretary Roberto Gradillas, Sonora Chief of Staff Celida Lopez, and Puerto Peñasco mayor Jorge Pivac were on hand to mark the launch of construction on the first of Encántame Soleil’s projected three towers on Playa Encanto.

Guevara Askar explained the three 25-story towers of Encántame Soleil will join the existing Encántame Towers (two of three which are already complete), once again becoming the tallest buildings in Sonora.  This represents the sum of tremendous efforts between both private initiatives and governmental agencies.

Guevara proudly announced as the Rendezvous building is already over 75% sold, they opened up sales on their second building “Jubilee” this week and (at the time of Monday’s event) had recorded 37 sales in two days!

The MG Developments CEO stressed it is much easier for investors to carry out ambitious projects like this when there is a governor such as Durazo, who is making progress in restoring Puerto Peñasco and the state.

Guevara detailed having purchased the Encántame land over 20 years ago when there was absolutely nothing there. One of the main challenges was to get services to the area including water and electricity, among others. These efforts have now resulted in this launch of the second tower project of Encántame Resorts, which will house 400 condominiums at an investment of 1.8 billion pesos.

Governor Durazo also acknowledged Puerto Peñasco mayor Jorge Pivac in helping to facilitate, along with the State government, these types of large-scale projects.  He noted it is “the responsibility of governmental agencies to back (these projects) with full transparency to ensure the success of their investment.”

The governor remarked the success of projects such as Encántame Soleil is also an achievement for the State administration, and the success of this investment further illustrates the extraordinary tourism potential of Puerto Peñasco.

Following the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony at Encántame Soleil, the governor accompanied Encántame Resorts personnel to the newly opened rooftop pool located on the 25th floor of the Encántame Towers Verano building tower next door.

Prior to his visit to Puerto Peñasco for the event at Encántame Soleil, Governor Durazo along with Mayor Pivac visited the neighboring city of Sonoyta. There, together with Sonoyta mayor Enrique Valdez and Mark Sanders, Arizona Director of International and Foreign Affairs, they marked the start of work to modernize Blvd. Benemérito de las Américas.

The local Convention and Visitors Bureau noted this important road improvement project will provide for a more dynamic connection between the border in Lukeville, AZ and the highway to Puerto Peñasco, easing access for tourism to our beautiful beaches.

Encantame Soleil is the 7th project of the team that has become MG Developments, full time in Puerto Peñasco since 1995, seeing through to successful completion six prior resorts including Encántame Towers, Puerta Privada, Sonoran Spa, Sonoran Sea, Princesa de Peñasco, and Condominios El Pinacate.
