Along with a 15% discount on 2015 Property Tax Fees, the Municipal Treasury is offering discounts of up to 80% on outstanding fees now through March 31st.
Income Director Jesús García Goméz expressed payments for both Property Taxes and the Federal Maritime Zone (ZOFEMAT) may be made in pesos or dollars directly at the Collection Center Offices located on Blvd. Eusebio Kino between Ave. Constitution and Blvd. Juarez (heading North, turn right after train tracks). In addition, payments may be done via bank transfer, credit card, or by check (Mexican or U.S.*). *There is an additional $5 US fee for U.S. checks (to cover bank fees). García Gómez indicated for those who opt to pay with U.S. checks, receipts will be available 15 days following payment. This is the timeframe for U.S. checks to clear bank authorization.
Discounts and payment methods apply to those who are current with their fees, as well as on outstanding accounts, and extends to residential, commercial, and tourism sectors.
The Income Director emphasized the Office is working to reach agreements with those who have high outstanding accounts so that payments be made in installments.
As part of the steps to inform and encourage timely property tax payments, approximately 80 staff members will soon be taking property tax bills directly to residences.
