As reported earlier this week, local photographer Daniel Lopez is currently in Chicago, IL where he will take part in the first of a series entitled “Paraisos Escondidos” (Hidden Paradises), which aims to reflect traditions of a specific town or region in Mexico. This first event, which will take place on Feb. 29, 2012 will be held on the Southside of Chicago, in Little Village, which is also commonly known as the “Mexican Capital of the Midwest.” The opening of the exhibition will be Feb. 29, 2012 6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m at M Hair Design 2500 S. Millard, Suite 4B, Chicago, Illinois, 60623.
Daniel has been in Chicago since Jan. 22nd and is helping with promotion of the upcoming Paraisos Escondidos event. Some of his spectacular photographs of Puerto Peñasco will be framed locally at Luis & Gaby’s Gallery and Frameshop in the Old Port and will be sent up for the expo. Daniel continues to seek local sponsors from Puerto Peñasco to help defray costs of the expo, while helping to further promote our area and his art, and has offered to give sponsors one of his wonderful photographs (of their choice) upon his return in March. Tal como habíamos reportado anteriormente, el fotógrafo local Daniel López se encuentra actualmente en la ciudad helada de Chicago, Estado de Illinois donde será parte del primer expo de una serie de eventos que se llama “Paraisos Escondidos” que pretende reflejar las tradiciones de una ciudad o región específica en México. Este primer evento, que se llevará a cabo el 29 de febrero, será en el lado sur de Chicago, en un área conocido como “El Pueblito” (Little Village) que también a veces se le llama el “Capital mexicano del medio-oeste.”
Daniel se encuentra en Chicago desde más o menos el 22 de enero y está ayudando en promover el evento de Paraisos Escondidos. Algunas de sus fotografías de Puerto Peñasco todavía se montarán aquí en la Galería de Luis y Gaby en el Puerto para después hacerle llegar a Daniel para el expo. Desde lejos Daniel sigue en busca de patrocinadores de Puerto Peñasco para ayudar con los costos del expo, mientras promueve tanto nuestro área como su arte, y ofrece regalar a los patrocinadores una foto al regresar en marzo.
