Countdown to Spring Break: U of A Safety Fair

uofa-safety-fair2012-620x413 Countdown to Spring Break: U of A Safety Fair In our countdown to 2012 Spring Break in Rocky Point, we from RockyPoint360.com were pleased to join Javier Muñoz from the city’s Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCV) in Tucson at the University of Arizona’s Safety Fair on Feb. 29th. Our table also displayed banners and information from ProAlliance Insurance provided by Rosie Glover, who has taken part in the safety fair for a number of years and who we were happy to help represent during the day. In addition to information packets with details on where to stay and what to do in Rocky Point (including the March 17th and 18th concerts/beach bash), those who stopped by the stand had the chance to speak with Nate Rettenmayer, Vice Consul from the US Consulate in Nogales, who brought along helpful brochures with Travel Safety Information along with details on how to contact the Office of American Citizen Services at the Consulate in Nogales if necessary when traveling to Rocky Point (nogalesACS@state.gov   http://nogales.usconsulate.gov )

From about 10 a.m – 2 p.m., numerous U of A students and Tucson community members wandered through the Safety Fair set up in the grassy mall near the Student Union and stopped by to gather information on Rocky Point while others shared all kinds of stories (yes, all kinds) about past travels to our beachside spot. Some of the questions addressed during the day included how to get an expedited passport, car insurance requirements in Mexico, travel options to Rocky Point when not driving, nature and ecotours in the area, Spring Break group travel possibilities, a request for details on animal shelters in Rocky Point, and even questions about flying to the area.

It was a beautiful day at the U of A, and we’d like to congratulate the Safety Fair organizers (ASUA) for their work in providing fun activities, food, and the opportunity to provide useful information to all who stopped by!  See you in Rocky Point!!!
