Another successful Chili cook-off benefiting Nancy Phelan’s Animal Adoption Center of Rocky Point was held on November 28th.  As tourism slows here in December and January, so do charitable donations.  The proceeds and donations help see the abused, neglected and abandoned animals through the winter that Nancy rescues.  This year almost 1,000 lbs of pet food was donated and nearly $1,400 collected through raffle ticket sales and numerous bags of dog treats, pet beds, collars, leashes, etc.  It was a gorgeous day to spend with friends and neighbors, taste some yummy chili and help out Nancy with her selfless mission of animal rescue here in Penasco.  The chili cook-off winners were:  1st place Homero Barrera II and assistants Victor and Gino, 2nd place Randy Adams, and 3rd place Darren Dodd.
