Bringing your wheels to Rocky Point this next weekend? Yes, wheels! Motorcycles, off-roading toys, Jeeps, etc. With an impressive background in music festivals, country singer/songwriter Harry Luge of Chandler, AZ, is teaming up with Banditos for the first “Ride Ride Ride Rally” meant to celebrate motorcycles and off-road lifestyles. Things kick off on Friday night, May 1st, 8 p.m. with a little “therapy session” as Harry describes it. Therapy session? “Yeah, we have what we call patio therapy shows in AZ, complete with a little “drink or sing”, so we’re inviting folk to therapy at Banditos!”
“The idea behind the Rally,” explains Luge, “is to hold it every year the first weekend in May with the mindset of “Bring your wheels” – off-road lifestyle and motorcycles are encouraged to join together to take in the sun, the beach and live music. We’d like to see it grow to include activities like bar crawls, plus additional contests and giveaways.”
Plus, Banditos is no stranger to rallies as it was the staging grounds for last year’s kick-off party for the 14th Rocky Point Rally (to be held Nov. 11 – 15, 2015) and also welcomed country singer Matt Farris in January for the Rocky Point Rally’s Kings Day weekend Toy Run.
For this 1st Ride Ride Ride Rally on May 2nd, people can contact Luge at harryluge.com (or the Harry Luge Band FB page ) for more info and ATV reservations.
In a recent phone interview, Harry, who played at Banditos earlier in April, remarked he is “…so excited to be a part of what’s going on in Rocky Point. The vibe is so great, and everyone seems so intereseted.” In addition to this first Ride Ride Ride Rally, Luge will be back on stage at Banditos later in May at the 3-day Memorial Day Music Festival and again at June as part of the Circus Mexicus line up! Stay posted for our full interview with Harry, coming up soon!
