The summer is an ideal time to help out Casa Hogar by joining their program “Adopt a Grandparent”, which asks for a simple donation of 200 pesos monthly for three months.
Santiago Ruiz, Board President of the José Dávalos Casa Hogar for the elderly, explained this annual program of the Casa Hogar aims to help raise funds to address different expenses at the home, and particularly payroll for those working there.
Upon making your donation to “Adopt a Grandparent” you’ll receive a card about the Casa Hogar resident you’re supporting, along with a receipt. Payments may be done monthly or in a sole donation of 600 pesos (about $36).
Donations can be made by contacting Santiago for more information as to where stands will be set up (for example July 1st at Casa Hogar), or by depositing directly into Bancomer account 0161929399, or through wire transfer Code 012779001619293995, then taking your receipt to Casa Hogar.
Along with supporting the residents at Casa Hogar, donations help with programs such as “Proyecto Francisco” which takes meals to the elderly in their homes, along with efforts to provide snacks to the homeless, and groceries to older adults living on the outskirts of the city.
Thanks for your support!
