The Director of the State Civil Protection Unit (UEPC), Carlos Arías, reports temperatures are expected to drop below 0°C in some parts of Sonora on Wednesday, Dec. 31st, with the entrance of a new cold front.
The cold front, which would be number 24, is expected to enter from the northwestern part of the state and may even interact with a storm, leading to the first winter storm of the season.
Possible rains are expected in Northern and northwestern parts of the state, with even the chance of snow in mountainous regions of Sonora (Sierras de Nogales, Cananea, Naco, Santa Cruz, Agua Prieta, el puerto de Santa Luis, as well as Esqueda, Fronteras, Nacozari, Bavispe, and Huachineras).
