As of Saturday, April 27th, 2013 the Puerto Peñasco Tiburones are back on the field at the Francisco León Garcia stadium as you come into town. The stadium, donning a fresh coat of green paint, new bleachers for “the porra” (fan squad) going up, and wheelchair accessible area on the north side is ready for a great season! Saturday night’s inaugural game, which the Tiburones won, brought out a large home crowd while fireworks and fanfare marked the season’s beginning.
Regular season games run from the end of April through the beginning of July, and this year you can get a season pass at the ticket gate for about 900 pesos (general admission) or 1100 pesos (stadium seats). Games start around 7 p.m., though watch for possible 6 o’clock start times on Sundays. Opening day tickets were just 25 pesos, though general admission runs from 40 – 50 pesos.
