Music continues this weekend in Rocky Point at the 5th Annual Jazz & Art Festival. Plus, look to the sea for catamarans darting about for the Piñata Regatta, and you may also catch runners taking on obstacle courses at the InSANDity course set up in front of Playa Bonita. Fall activities are here and it’s time for the Weekend Rundown!
Fall in Puerto Peñasco means Back to the Beach for many longer-time residents; warm sunny days with no humidity are welcome reminders of why we enjoy October so much!

Back to the Beach Bash: Speaking of heading back to the beach, the Las Conchas HOA has teamed up with Caribbean Parrot this year for their annual ‘welcome back to the playa’ fiesta! Proceeds from this yearly fun-fundraiser go to help the many programs that receive support from the Las Conchas Community Relations Committee. 6 p.m. Caribbean Parrot (Ave. Sinaloa) Adults $20 US / Children $10 US Buffet, Silent Auction, and Dancing!

8 p.m. Inauguration of photo exhibit at the ITSPP, with the work of Jesusa Gamboa (originally from Puerto Peñasco) and her travels through China
5th Jazz & Art Festival gets underway on Friday evening at Hotel Peñasco del Sol – no tickets necessary for the first night. Friday’s schedule includes an evening display of artwork throughout the Hotel’s lobby and performances by Puerto Peñasco’s Dance Academy from 8 – 9 p.m.
Out in Cholla Bay, the third phase of the Angler of the Year fishing tournament will also be going on throughout the weekend. Check at JJ’s Cantina for information.

InSANDity beach obstacle course – 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. At just $20 US, the InSANDity course should prove to be a fun challenge for participants of all ages. The course, which in the past has included up to 20 different obstacles, can be found on Saturday in front of Playa Bonita Hotel…stretching down in front of the accompanying Playa Bonita RV Resort.
CEDO Beach Clean-up Day! 8:30 a.m. meet up at the CEDO Field Station in Las Conchas to join in!
Rocky Point Challenge – Piñata Regatta! Be sure to look out to sea for breathtaking views of catamarans cutting across the water!
5th Jazz & Art Festival – Main Stage! Beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are just 60 pesos / or 120 pesos (for VIP seating) to enjoy the main performance evening of this year’s Jazz & Art Festival at Hotel Peñasco del Sol. Local artists will have work on display within the Hotel’s lobby, though the main spot on Saturday night will be at the Peñasco del Sol esplanade (area next to Pinacate condo Villas) where the stage will be filled with music and dance, leading up to the headlining jazz & salsa group Carmela y Más from Phoenix, AZ!

5th Jazz & Arts Festival wraps up with ongoing artwork displayed in the hotel lobby of Peñasco del Sol and music from 9 a.m. – noon to wrap up the weekend.
