CEDO ANNOUNCES REGIONAL FISHERIES
AND AQUACULTURE FESTIVAL SONORA 2022

Promoting artisanal fisheries and aquaculture in the northern Gulf of California – Save the Date – June 7-9, 2022 at the Peñasco Expo Center

2022 has been recognized by the United Nations Assembly as the INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF ARTISANAL FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE (#IYAFA2022), an initiative that highlights and recognizes the work of millions of fishermen, fisherwomen, aquaculturists, and fisheries workers, and their contribution to the supply of healthy food for millions of people in the world.

The state of Sonora is the largest fishery producer in the country, with more than 327 aquaculture facilities and 6,787 smaller vessels, which together with deep-sea fishing generated more than 18,135 million pesos in 2020.
