On September 24th, the local office on Integral Family Development (DIF) received a welcome donation of diapers, presented by Mark Olszewski on behalf of Roxanne Urbanawitz.
Accompanied by DIF Director Samuel Ortega Castro, DIF President Rafaela Félix de Figueroa expressed her gratitude for the donation, as well as for the special strollers recently given to children at the Basic Rehabilitation unit (UBR).
“I am profoundly grateful for this support, because we know the diapers will be of great use both for the children at the Amores de Peñasco Children’s Shelter, as well as for older adults as needed,” indicated Félix de Figueroa.
The DIF President reiterated her thanks for the U.S. community, who either reside or frequently visit Puerto Peñasco, for their continuous support of different programs of the DIF that aim to improve living conditions for vulnerable families in our community.
“The U.S. community within Puerto Peñasco has always supported social causes of the DIF, which is why we are grateful for this support to help further assist those in need,” she added.
Félix de Figueroa highlighted how other visitors and/or local residents from the U.S. have assisted with the Dialysis Unit, the Basic Rehabilitation Unit (UBR), and Amores de Peñasco.
