Let the music begin! The highly anticipated Circus Mexicus weekend, offering good vibes and rhythm of Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers along with a dozen other bands is hitting our shores!  As we said last year, this is like your favorite summer camp from growing up, filled with familiar faces and a jam packed schedule!  Still, there’s so much more going on around Rocky Point to complement the “summer camp” experience, so let’s run down the weekend!

Rocky Point Weekend Rundown!Las Conchas Summer Concert with Acoustic Carpet (Tempe, AZ), local saxophonist Richard Scott & Friends  6:30 p.m. Fiesta Park in Las Conchas $5 US / fundraiser for Las Conchas Community Relations Committee. BYOB and bring a blanket or chair.  The Las Conchas Community Relations Committee actively supports numerous charities and efforts around town, raising nearly $20,000 US annually through a variety of fun, cultural, and artistic activities.

Tiburones Baseball! Tiburones are still in town tonight, taking on Rojos de Caborca. Games start around 7:30. Next home games June 13. For the season’s regular schedule check the Rol de Juegos 

CEDO’s Environmental Film Night – 7 p.m. – FREE! CEDO Field Station in Las Conchas Part of CEDO’s 1st Thursday film nights.  June film:  Blue Planet – Coasts    Popcorn and refreshments available for 10 pesos.  Be sure to check out CEDO’s upcoming NaturArte    tours to help explore and enjoy the environment!  Coming up – Kayaking in the Morua Estuary, Tidepool discovery, San Jorge Island tour & snorkeling, plus Oyster experience at local cooperative.

Rocky Point Weekend Rundown!Puerto Peñasco Music Academy  “New Horizons” concert   7 p.m.  Quinta Ventura  50 pesos – For a second year in a row, Music Academy students will be performing their musical art to help support graduates to further their studies into the world of music.

June 7 – San Peregrino fundraising breakfast 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Las Palomas Convention Center  120 pesos –  San Peregrino is a local organization seeking to provide counseling, economic, spiritual, and logistic support to individuals combatting cancer. One of their goals is to build a hospice center in Puerto Peñasco.

Rocky Point Weekend Rundown!June 28 – 1st Mexican craft Beer & Wine Festival with the music of Nicho Hinojosa and local artists 7 p.m.  Laos Mar Hotel.  Proceeds to go to local DIF.  Tickets availale at El Tapeo Wine Bar (Laos Mar) and DIF  $250 pesos (includes wine and beer tasting and a full night of music)
