29th Annual Holiboard Tournament on Feb 2 at 10AM, Playa de Oro RV Park in the Mirador, behind park old restaurant area. Come see the crowd, 64 players, scorekeepers, judges and spectators, and all the fun. The finalist 2 person teams play on Thurs morning, and we are having a banquet, Friday at 2PM at clubhouse. The game uses 4″ metal washers that are thrown into elevated flat boards with 3 holes, each hole has different points to get to a score of 21.
“Sorta like corn-hole, but more complicated and requires more skill,” explains Linda Mottle, “This game is played throughout US and Canada by many, although I had never heard of it before coming to Playa de Oro! There are rules/guidelines, and team t-shirts. We have practice sessions couple times/week at park that start several months before tournament, and many people come into town to play, assist, or be spectator.”
All are welcome to attend and enjoy the fun!
