Wind blows through Rocky Point

A strong burst of wind, bringing along with it waves and dust, blew through Rocky Point on Tuesday evening, Oct. 25th. As reported earlier, that same evening the popular Fiesta Cruiser encountered difficulties near the city’s harbor and people on board were evacuated. Local news sources recently confirmed that Evelyn Ann Fought, originally from Glendale, AZ, with a home in the area of Las Conchas and who had been aboard the Fiesta Cruiser at the time it crashed, was the sole loss of life from the unfortunate event.

The impact of the wind gusts could also be seen along areas of Las Conchas and extending down the coast, with waves knocking into seawalls while cutting new sand dunes into the shoreline and knocking out some beach steps.
