Visits suspended to Casa Hogar home for the elderly as health measure

 By José Antonio Pérez

As the elderly are among the most vulnerable to the Covid-19 coronavirus, the José Dávalos Valdivia “Casa Hogar” home for the elderly has suspended visitations to the home for over a week now. Board president Santiago Ruiz Hurtado detailed preventive steps and intense training have in fact been in effect at the home since early March.

The suspension of visits to the home for the elderly went into full effect on March 17th.  Ruiz Hurtado noted while normally the community is encouraged to give a little of their time to the home, on this occasion help would be most helpful in the form of donated goods:

  • Milk
  • Cookies
  • Beans
  • Rice
  • Pinol cleaning supplies
  • Wet wipes

Donations may be left at the back door of the home from 9 am – 1 pm. Please ring the doorbell and leave donations outside so staff can bring in carefully in order to properly disinfect. More info 638 383 2599
