As of September 28th, there’s a new option connecting Puerto Peñasco to Phoenix by land with the launch of bus service by TAP Royal International. Keith Rosenblum, international liaison for TAP, noted while TAP already provides various connections between the US and Mexico, the Peñasco route is a pilot project and initially will run Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays, with the possibility of making adjustments per the market.
Municipal Economic Development Coordinator Jorge Valdés Félix detailed bus service departs Phoenix at 10:00 a.m. from the TAP Royal office located at 2702 W McDowell Rd, with stops at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Arizona Mills, arriving in Puerto Peñasco at approximately 2:30 p.m. The bus will leave Puerto Peñasco at 4 p.m. from Hotel Peñasco de Sol, and can make stops again at Arizona Mills and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport upon request, or go directly to the TAP Royal offices. Costs are $40 US one way, $70 US round-trip.
