Seeking measures that benefit care for both national and foreign tourists in passing through Sonoyta on their way to Puerto Peñasco, and to other points South, on Wednesday, Dec. 5th, leaders from the Puerto Peñasco Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCV) met with Sonoyta Mayor Ing. Julio Cesar Ramírez.

Puerto Peñasco OCV President Héctor Vázquez del Mercado, OCV Director Javier Muñoz Herrera, and Oscar Palacio on behalf of tourism business leaders, proposed the creation of alliances to carry out actions benefitting tourism and travelers who go between both cities and the border entry at Lukeville, AZ. Mayor Ramírez expressed his openness so that his new administration take steps, do follow-up, and require agents to offer better services toward tourism. Together they agreed to look for ways to allow support for tourism in Sonoyta, as well as to take steps for funds for tourism infrastrcuture that will improve the flow of visitors through the region (road improvements, signage, and indications, etc.) given that both the economy of Sonoyta as well as that of Puerto Peñasco greatly depend on resources that visitors bring to the area daily in their travels to these cities. We hope this joint effort will translate into immediate results to benefit travelers during this Holiday season, as well as for those planning trips in 2013,  guaranteeing all enjoy travel without setbacks and take in a pleasant trip.

Reforzando lazos turísticos con Sonoyta

Buscando acciones que beneficien la atención a Turistas nacionales y extranjeros en su paso por Sonoyta hacia Puerto Peñasco y el Sur del Estado, el día de hoy, se reunieron con el Alcalde de Sonoyta, Ing. Julio Cesar Ramírez Vásquez los directivos de la OCV Puerto Peñasco (Héctor Vázquez del Mercado- Presidente y Javier Muñoz- Director) así como Oscar Palacio, en representación de los empresarios turísticos de Puerto Peñasco, quienes  propusieron el crear una alianza para llevar al cabo acciones en beneficio del turismo y los paseantes que circulan la entre ambas ciudades y el puerto fronterizo en Lukeville AZ. Ante esta situación, el Alcalde, expresó su mejor disposición para que la nueva administración a su cargo, realice las acciones, el seguimiento y exhorte a sus elementos a ofrecer un mejor  servicios hacia el  turismo. Los asistentes estuvieron de acuerdo, en buscar los medios que permitan  apoyar en materia de turismo a Sonoyta, así como también el gestionar recursos para infraestructura turística que permita un mejor flujo de visitantes en la región (mejoras en caminos, letreros turísticos y señalización ) ya que la economía tanto de Sonoyta como Puerto Peñasco dependen en gran manera, de los recursos que día con día los visitantes derraman a su paso por estas ciudades. Esperamos que este esfuerzo conjunto, de resultados de forma inmediata, para beneficio de los turistas de la temporada decembrina así como los que planean hacerlo para el próximo año 2013, y de esta manera garantizar que disfruten de un viaje sin contratiempos y una estancia placentera.
