Do you remember the Des-paloozada this past March that put a damper on the 2nd Peñasco Palooza by nearly blowing us all off the beach? We’ve been anticipating news as to when the tunes would return to town and now Chango’s Bar is excited to announce the presentation of Steve McCarty and Friends on Saturday, Dec. 29th. If you purchased a ticket to the Peñasco Palooza show in March, your wristband will give you free entry to the Dec. 29th show at Chango’s plus you’ll receive a free bottle of Tequila Peñasco blanco. Additional tickets will be available at the door for $10 US. If you purchased a VIP ticket for the March palooza, there will also be a VIP area at Chango’s with tables, chairs, wait service, etc.
Organizers express gratitude for everyone’s patience as they have been working with musicians to find a rescheduled date that worked for all. Though several of the original musicians cannot attend the Dec. 29th event, the concert still pulls together superbly talented musicians and includes the following line-up:
Steve McCarty – Guitar/Vocals
Terry Anderson – Sax/Vocals/Guitar (Terry played with Tower of Power, Sam Moore of “Sam and Dave,” Billy Preston, the Miracles of “Smokey Robinson & The Miracles,” Little Anthony & The Imperials, Steve McCarty Band, etc.)
Leon Bisquera – Keyboard/Piano (Bisquera has played with Anita Bakker, Chakka Khan, and the Hit Men All-Stars, among many other stars)
Lee Oliver – Guitar/vocals (Lee has played with Duke Gadd, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Steve McCarty Band, and others)
Angelo Chandler – Bass Angelo played with “The SOS Band”, The Larry Bailey Band Ira King – Drums & Percussion King plays drums for “Sister Sledge”
The night will also include Chango’s house band “The Summer” who will open the concert and then DJ Levi who will keep things going into the wee hours of the morning. Come early, stay late! Welcome back, Steve and friends!!
