4th Skim(board) Festival at the Beach
Local photographer, aspiring filmmaker, and part of the Peñasco cultural community Jimmy Maldonado shares there will be a Skimboard Festival at Playa Hermosa beach (next to Penasco del Sol hotel) on Saturday, July 21st.
“Each year, the level of this event continues to increase after it began solely as hanging out. We’d like to make this an annual event in July and invite people from in and out of Peñasco. This Saturday, July 21st, there will be various local bands including Burleska, Union Rasta, Estado de Agresion, Los Rufianes, Agua de Coco and also – super confirmed – Drinking Water of Yuma, AZ. Plus, any band that plays in the beach genre is invited to play.
Entry is free but we ask everyone to bring non-perishable food items (canned goods, rice, beans, pasta, etc.) to be shared with children in need.
It’ll be a healthy hang-out, awesome environment and being with people – take your ice chests, lots of water, beach soccer ball, snacks, lunch, beach umbrella, etc.”
4to. Festival Skim en La Playa
“Como cada año subiendo de nivel en este evento que comenzó como un cotorreo trankish, queremos volverlo un evento anual para las fechas de Julio y asi contar con invitados de fuera.. … este proximo sabado se presenta bandas locales como Burleska, union rasta, Estado de agresión, los rufianes, agua de coco y confirmadisimo Drinking Water de Yuma, AZ y la invitación esta abierta a cualquier banda que quiera tocar, siempre y cuando el genero vaya acorde a lo playero
Sorpresas en cuanto a música ya que viene un invitado especial a mezclar el roots! un sound system! para comenzar el chapuzon agusto! y también contaremos con la presencia de 2 DJS: Sabdiel de Caborca con su Deep Trance y DJ Chontal desde Hermosillo con su PSY pal after y aferrafter La entrada es gratuita, pero les pedimos lleven alguna lata de comida o arroz, frijoles, sopa, algo para los niños mas necesitados esperamos un cotorreo sano excelente ambiente y convivio lleven sus hieleras, mucha agua, balón de fut, botana, lonche, sombrilla, etc.” – Jimmy Maldonado
