Rocky Point and its surrounding desert will form part of the 2023 World Rally Raid Championship route, set to take place April 22nd – 28th across Sonora.
Mayor Jorge Pivac Carrillo, together with Sonora Rally organizer Darren Skilton and Sonora Tourism Secretary Célida López Cárdenas, detailed the entire route will include Hermosillo, Caborca, Puerto Peñasco, and San Luis Rio Colorado. The “Drakar” style rally anticipates participants from Europe, Asia, Canada, the U.S., Colombia, and Mexico.
