During their visit to Puerto Peñasco, the tourism operators enjoyed local cuisine, a spectacular sunset following a boat ride to San Jorge “Bird” Island, and even a trip to the Schuk Toak Visitors Center at the El Pinacate Biosphere Reserve, where the magical and imposing desert impressed them.

In further promoting tourism to the area, following the “fam trip” of tourism operators to Puerto Peñasco, OCV Director Lizette Ibarra along with OCV Assistant Fernanda Ortíz attended the “Spotlight” tourism conference in Tucson, AZ from April 7th to April 10th.  The four-day event, organized by the Free Spirit Vacation company, welcomed 46 different tour operators from across the United States and Canada who are interested in bringing tourist groups to the southern U.S. states, as well as to the neighboring state of Sonora.
