Puerto Peñasco mayor Jorge Pivac took part in the Sonora and Arizona Mayors Summit held April 24th in Tucson. Pivac was one of 7 mayors from cities on both sides of the border, together with Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs and Sonora Governor Alfonso Durazo.
The binational summit, organized by the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, addressed areas of mutual interest among cities and the region, including the need to work together to strengthen economies, tourism, border crossings, and public policy to help with growth as a microregion.
Pivac noted he took advantage of the opportunity to strengthen bonds with representatives from both Arizona and Sonora and highlight Puerto Peñasco and the work being done to position it as the best tourism destination in Northwestern Mexico.
