Puerto Peñasco anticipates heavy tourism over Labor Day Weekend

Some area hotels and condo complexes in Puerto Peñasco are already registering full occupancy for the upcoming Labor Day Weekend, while others will surely see spikes in the number of visitors over the U.S. holiday weekend, reports Héctor Vázquez del Mercado, President of the local Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCV).

Statistics show that Labor Day Weekend represents about 30,000 visitors for Puerto Peñasco, particularly with many of those driving down from neighboring Arizona. Vázquez del Mercado indicated most visitors over Labor Day Weekend are made up of entire families, or groups of young people.

A number of bars, restaurants, tourist agencies, and others are offering special promotions in town for the U.S. Labor Day (which in Mexico “Día del Trabajo” is actually celebrated May 1st ).
