Promoting film production between Puerto Peñasco and Arizona

Puerto Peñasco and the Arizona Office on Film & Digital Media have signed a memorandum of understanding, marking the official launch of the “300 Mile Zone” program, which seeks to promote collaboration and marketing of film productions between Arizona and Sonora.

Puerto Peñasco Director of Economic Development, Aide Verduzco, along with Matthew Earl Jones, director of the film and digital media program at the Arizona Commerce Authority, detailed this strategy is meant to increase film production in the area through business expos and publicity, as well as involvement of groups via fam trips.

In the last 4 years, Puerto Peñasco has welcomed production crews from movies such as Sonora, Jappy (Happy) Days, Infelices para Siempre, as well as for the FOX Television series Run Coyote Run, the Netflix series Yankee, and other TV shows including HGTV’s House Hunters International, and documentaries for National Geographic.
