Sonoran Resorts General Manager Engineer Fernando Anaya, along with sales director Jim Ringquist, have begun making the rounds to distribute proceeds from the 8th Annual Las Vegas night for charity held in early July at Cielito Lindo of Sonoran Sky.
In detailing this year’s event raised approximately $8000 USD in all, Ringquist enthusiastically noted this was the “Best ever by far!”
Proceeds from the Sonoran Resorts Las Vegas night high-stakes tables (well, actually from ticket sales for a night of seaside fun with casino chips and raffle prizes) are already making their way to several organizations and causes, including:
$3500 USD to support 30 students of the 257 in all benefiting from the scholarship program of the local Office on Comprehensive Family Development (DIF).
$1000 USD presented jointly with members of the local Rotary Club (CR Mar de Peñasco, AC) to the local Dialysis Clinic.
$700 USD to “Steps of Love” for ongoing support of the local homework clubs and educational programs of AIM Peñasco, A.C.
$750 USD to Adopt-a-Classroom for school uniforms
An additional donation, which may receive a matching fund, is yet to be announced, explained Ringquist.
This year, several organizations were encouraged to participate in the fundraising evening by promoting ticket sales, which would then provide the possibility for a portion of the proceeds to go back to them.
Held around July 4th weekend since 2012, the Sonoran Resorts Las Vegas Night for Charity has significantly benefited numerous charitable efforts throughout Puerto Peñasco. Over the years, this has included donation of needed equipment to the Dialysis Center, donation of air conditioners to the local children’s shelter Amores de Peñasco, contributing to efforts to refurbish a high school bus, among many other important measures.
