By José Antonio Pérez

Jose Luis Montijo Torres, Municipal Director for Public Works, reported following 10 years since Plaza la Madre underwent renovation efforts, it is set to get a new facelift at a cost of over 7 million pesos.

Montijo Torres detailed funds from the Colorado River Bridge Trust will be put towards bringing new life to the Plaza, which at the entry to town and across from the baseball stadium, is one of the most publicly used areas in Puerto Peñasco for recreation and family gatherings.  The project consists of demolishing the entire public space, renovating the kiosk, and relocation of the Mother’s Monument.
