Measures to acquire 7 million pesos for 8000 new street lamps
Puerto Peñasco, Sonora. May 22, 2016. Nearly 8000 new lamps will be installed across the city thanks to resources of 7 million pesos pursued by Mayor Kiko Munro, along with Federal Representative Everardo López Córdova.
In order to further detail sectors of the city where the lamps will be distributed, the Mayor and Representative López visited the Oriente and San Rafael neighborhoods as they will be the first to benefit from the new LED technology lights.
The Mayor explained distribution of street lamps in these two neighborhoods would represent the first part of the number of lights projected to be installed in the city before the end of the year.
“By installing these 8000 lamps, we aim to provide 85% coverage across the city. Through adequate street lighting we seek to reduce criminal incidents while also allowing those who need to move around at night to do so safely and with adequate lighting,” emphasized Kiko Munro.
