More than 35,000 visitors expected over U.S. holiday weekend

More than 35,000 visitors from the U.S. are expected in Puerto Peñasco this weekend, over the U.S. Independence Day holiday weekend.

According to reports from the Puerto Peñasco Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCV), beach front hotels are already registering 100% in reservations for the coming weekend, with other hotel complexes reporting more than 60% reservation levels for the period stretching from Thursday to Sunday.

OCV President Héctor Vázquez del Mercado indicates these encouraging figures show once more that thousands of visitors from the U.S. prefer the beaches of Puerto Peñasco for their holiday vacations.

He stated during this summer period, U.S. visitors represent the largest number of tourists to our destination while those from Baja California, Chihuahua, and Sonora, will begin to arrive around mid-July.

This weekend tourists will be able to take in events such as the indoor Mermaid’s Market, Summer Beach Party, and the Las Vegas Night for Charity, as well as fireworks for the U.S. celebration of Independence Day.

The prevailing peaceful climate of Puerto Peñasco, as well as the beauty of its beaches and grand hotel offerings continue to be important factors in attracting more tourists, concludes the Convention and Visitors Bureau.
