Mexico simplifies phone calls to 10 digits

As of August 3rd, dialing phone numbers in Mexico has just gotten a little easier as when dialing from a land/cell line you will only be required to dial 10 digits.  For example:  638 – XXX – XXXX   This means calls to cell-phones will no longer require 044 or 045 prior to the area code. Similarly 01 will no longer be required for long-distance calls in country.

When dialing Mexico from the US (land or cell), the change means you will only need to dial 52 prior to the 10 digit number.  For example, when dialing from the US or Canada: 011-52 638 XXX-XXXX   (Previously, an additional 1 had been necessary when dialing cell phones in Mexico from abroad)

En México desde hace un año, cambió la marcación telefónica. Tuvimos un periodo de convivencia que está por terminar. A partir de este 3 de agosto, sólo podrás comunicarte si marcas a 10 dígitos.
