Puerto Peñasco Mayor Kiko Munro reports the Municipal Administration will round out the year with important projects in urban infrastructure totaling approximately 240 million pesos. He detailed through a series of measures they were able to obtain resources for use beginning in September and through the end of the fiscal year. This will allow Puerto Peñasco to continue advancing substantially in areas of road paving, water, and street lights, among others.
In further promoting sports and healthy recreation, the mayor announced work will be done to fully rehabilitate 8 city parks, among these: Obrera, Bondojo, El Lápiz, Luis Encinas, Lázaro Cárdenas and Brisas del Golfo. In addition, work will be done to refurbish the La Milla sports complex as well as the unfinished Jesús Coto Miranda complex. Similarly, the Francisco León García Stadium will be fully rehabilitated and three “fast” soccer fields will be built with use of synthetic grass in the San Rafael, Obrera, and Nueva Esperanza neighborhoods.
He detailed repaving work on Ave. Luis Encinas will be completed between Calle 13 and Ave. Revolución, and ongoing work will be focused on providing a dignified entrance into the city via Boulevard Freemont.
Resources will also be put toward construction of sidewalks along different city streets and avenues, street lamps across the entire city, as well as improvements to hydraulic networks, street signage, and stop lights.
