Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, March 3, 2016. During the inauguration of the Puerto Peñasco Children and Youth Baseball League, Mayor Kiko Munro reiterated that sports has the full unrestricted support of his administration, which for the first time in its history has an autonomous budget of 7 million pesos.
He announced this year they will renovate the athletic field in the San Rafael neighborhood, to include grass, awnings, drinking fountains, and all necessary infrastructure. Furthermore, the baseball stadium will be remodeled. This is in addtion to putting two buses into operation to provide safe transport for athletes to different competitions.
The mayor remarked that in coordination with Erubiel Durazo of the Arizona Diamondbacks, youth baseball clinics are also programmed to take place in Peñasco in coming weeks.
