Las Palomas Beach & Golf Resort to Host Gonzo & Friends Golf Tournament in Support of 1MISSION
The tournament, in partnership with former Arizona Diamondback Luis Gonzalez, benefits Rocky Point’s 1MISSION community development organization
Puerto Peñasco, Mexico – Las Palomas Beach & Golf Resort will once again host the Gonzo & Friends Golf Tournament, November 19-20, 2021, in support of Rocky Point’s 1MISSION community development organization. Former Arizona Diamondback Luis González, along with other current and former Major League Baseball (MLB) players, will participate in the tournament to raise funds for the organization, which helps families living in poverty earn houses through community service. Registration and sponsorships are now open.
“Las Palomas hosts this tournament for one main purpose: to raise money so that families in poverty have access to safe, secure housing,” said Héctor Vázquez del Mercado, general director of Las Palomas Beach & Golf Resort. “We invite everyone to come enjoy the golf tournament, meet our celebrity ballplayers, and stay at Mexico’s premier beach and golf resort, all while supporting an amazing cause.”
The event kicks off on Friday, November 19 with a memorabilia auction and cocktail reception for players, sponsors and guests. The schedule includes a practice round on Friday and a dinner with participating MLB players, followed by the tournament and awards ceremony on Saturday.
“Our goal is to raise $20,000. In more than 13 years of serving Puerto Peñasco, 883 families have earned housing through community service,” said Nate Hughes, vice president of partnerships at 1MISSION. “We’re thankful to Las Palomas and Luis González for partnering with us to help our community.”
