House fire leads family to turn to community

On July 9th, an evening house fire caused a family to lose all their belongings, though no one was injured. The family is now turning to the community to ask for assistance through the donation of furniture, clothing, household goods, and particularly construction materials and paint in their effort to rebuild.

Lilian Rivera, mother of the family impacted by the fire, detailed they are asking for assistance to help rebuild the home, along with items that will allow them to move forward. This includes:

  • Table (dining room/kitchen table)
  • 2 or three mattresses
  • Water jugs (garrafones)
  • Kitchen utensils
  • Towels
  • Trashcans
  • Kitchen appliances
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Clothing (Lilian 47, sons 19, 15, 11, and an 8 year old daughter. Sizes 34, 32, 31 (for sons) while the 8 year old girl wears sizes for 12-14 year old.
