Health Inspections help prepare for Spring season

The local Health Control office has been inspecting and verifying area restaurants, seafood markets, hotels, street vendors, and beaches as part of the Spring “Lent” Operative.

Health Control Director Carlos Decina indicated they are currently visiting food preparation establishments and services in order to ensure places and processes are clean. He detailed the intense operation will last through Semana Santa and, following initial inspection of restaurants and hotels, along with vendors and seafood markets, the Office will then check bars, night clubs, and gas stations.

He stated hygiene practices in food management and at establishments are generally acceptable, noting they have issued suggestions concerning issues not considered serious.  He added the beaches of Puerto Peñasco can be considered clean, due greatly to the strong natural tidal movements.
