On Sunday, a fox found near the Sonoran Sun Resort on Sandy Beach was captured and removed before being released unharmed back into the desert, reported Animal Control of the Municipal Health Office.

Animal Control Director Erick Francisco Gastélum Pacheco detailed after receiving reports of the wildlife sighting at the resort, the approximate three-year-old female fox was removed and then freed in an area along the coastal highway. The fox did not appear to have any problems and was unharmed.  He stressed while the fox was not causing any harm at the resort complex, staff were correct to contact animal control.

In such instances, Gastélum encourages the Health Office or C-4 be contacted immediately, such as now with the resort fox and earlier in the year in the case of a stranded coyote spotted in a local fish processing plant.  Both were successfully released back into the desert.
