Puerto Peñasco has appeared in Forbes Magazine’s “Top 10 Spring Break Destinations Of 2019” list, further positioning our seaside port among international tourist destinations. With this news, Sonora Tourism Promotion Coordinator Armando Ceceña Salido noted this means efforts made by State and Municipal administrations, as well as the Convention and Visitors Bureau and local businesses, are beginning to bear fruits by attracting a more international market.
The recent Forbes’ list was based on statistical analysis from March 8th through 24th for both 2017 and 2018, taking into consideration the inter-annual growth in demand of travelers. Puerto Peñasco came in number 6 spot on the Spring Break list, joining cities mostly in Florida as well as Saboya, France.
Ceceña Salido explained that both intense promotions, along with the quality of services offered in Puerto Peñasco, have placed this destination on “the radar” of many vacationers.
It is worth mentioning during Spring Break 2018, close to 120 thousand visitors from the United States, mainly Arizona, came to Puerto Peñasco, generating an overall economic revenue estimated at 120 million pesos.
