Beachgoers can be confident about Puerto Peñasco’s beaches, which Secretary of Health officials note have been tested to be free of free-living amoebas (AVL).
Ubaldo Armando Sánchez, Director of Health Control for Puerto Peñasco, reports according to results on water samples recently analyzed at State laboratories, the city’s beaches are free of bacteria that could impact people’s health.
Visitors and locals can be confident in bathing in the waters of the Sea of Cortez and walking along Puerto Peñasco’s beaches, which were analyzed at various strategic points along the coast from Peñasco del Sol Hotel and along Sandy Beach, in being areas with the greatest amount of beachgoers and the most enclosed beaches.
The Health Control Director expressed the beach samples and analysis are done constantly in helping to ensure the safety of beachgoers who can enjoy the city’s beaches with no health risk.
He commented his office is also taking samples from more than 47 pools at hotel and condominium complexes in Puerto Peñasco, which have also shown to test negative for harmful bacteria.
