“En Fuego” – a new event setting & music venue will kick open its gates this Friday, February 16th for a“ribbon cutting ceremony” and free open air concert featuring The Black Moods and Analog Outlaws from Arizona, as well as norteño style Grupo Riesgo. The goal of the new site is precisely to offer up music in English and Spanish, while offering a stage nearly beachside.
The kick-off event this Friday will start with the “ribbon cutting” about 5:30 p.m., fiesta starting around 6:30 p.m. with Grupo Riesgo, followed by invited guests Analog Outlaws before The Black Moods take the stage. The setting along Sandy Beach is an expanse of land found next to Las Palmas condos (some may recall where last June’s Circus Mexicus was held). In coming months, En Fuego promoters plan to build a whole new venue to host popular musicians and groups.
While entry to the En Fuego kick-off concert is free, folks are encouraged to bring along donations for the ongoing work of the local DIF (Comprehensive Family Development Office) such as: baby items (especially diapers), non-perishable food, toiletries and feminine products, or even cleaning products.
