With the month of May beginning to wind down, temperatures in Puerto Peñaso are hovering around the low to mid 80s, the sea is once again calm, and we’re ready for summer! As we enter June, Puerto Peñasco will set its eyes to sea in honoring Día de la Marina (June 1st) and then we’re headed toward elections (June 7th). Following a particularly busy Memorial Day weekend, and a month of some crazy wind, we welcome the change in pace…for a week or so…right before the city welcomes Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers XXIV Circus Mexicus! Let’s run down the weekend and plan to take in some tunes over the sea – don’t miss troprocker Brittany Kingery on Sunday @ Beach Bum!
Getting to and around town
– Road work in front of City Hall is moving along quickly with the recent opening up of Blvd. Juarez and Calle Luis Encinas (near movie theater) toward the Old Port.
– Movement has begun just north of town at the “intersection” of the Sonoyta-Peñasco Highway and turn off toward Laguna del Mar/Laguna Shores and Mayan Palace. Work in this area is focusing on an overpass to help increase safety along this stretch.
– Part of Blvd. Juarez when coming into town is OPEN. Remain alert at stop light as traffic is now more active at that intersection and that particular spot has seen better days (linking Blvd. Juarez to Blvd. Josefa Ortiz and Blvd. Samuel Ocaña).
