In honor of the traditional Kings Day on January 6th, the grounds of the local DIF were filled to the brim with kids who turned up to receive gifts and goodies at the holiday fiesta. Local DIF President Linda Pivac de Munro celebrated with the children throughout the afternoon, accompanied by her husband Puerto Peñasco Mayor Kiko Munro, several city officials, and DIF staff. The majority of the gifts given out at the afternoon event had been collected during the DIF’s successful Toy Drive held in mid-December. It’s worth noting more than 2000 gifts had been collected at the December Toy Drive.
The Office on Integral Family Development (DIF) is a social assistance branch of the government and, according to its mission, seeks to direct public policy regarding social assistance while promoting the integral development of the family and community.
