November is here! Yeah, we can’t believe it either.
November 1st and 2nd in Mexico honor the traditional Day of the Dead, the 1st being dedicated to young children who have gone before us and November 2nd is Día de los Muertos when families and friends flock to cemeteries to remember all of their loved ones. Here in Puerto Peñasco, on Nov. 2nd local cemeteries reflect nearly a festive atmosphere with vendors selling food, flowers, and treats outside the walls while others clean off and decorate graves throughout the day, culminating with candles and often music at night. Numerous homes and local businesses also display elaborate altars honoring loved ones. It is a beautiful time of the year!
