The number of visitors to Puerto Peñasco during the 2012 Spring Break season points to significant and sustained recovery of tourism to the area. During the busiest week of the recent Spring Break season, March 12 – 18, there was a 22% increase over last year’s numbers, representing an economic boost of nearly $1.7 million dollars for hotels, restaurants, bars, and service providers across the city. Just this past weekend, for example, there were more than 48,000 visitors to the area, the majority of whom came from the U.S. All of those visiting the area enjoyed a safe weekend in Puerto Peñasco and we continue to see a notable increase in those who choose to frequent our city during Spring Break.
