Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers are celebrating 20 years of Circus Mexicus June 6-9, 2019 throughout Puerto Penasco and they want you to join the Circus. 2019 also marks the 20th anniversary of the Peacemakers’ debut Honky Tonk Union album. As Clyne has explained at recent shows, themes throughout the record express the band’s quest for independence from a record industry which to date had provided little to founding members Clyne and PH Naffah beyond empty promises, canceled tours and shuffling of management. Honky Tonk Union set forth the path to what would become one of America’s most successful, independent touring rock bands of its generation.
With that, Clyne and Naffah brought their newly formed Peacemakers to Puerto Penasco following the release of Honky Tonk Union and found a sympathetic bar owner at the Sunset Cantina who provided a roof top, lots of beer and just enough electricity for a show. Return visits followed, complete with tropical storms, swine flu scares, equipment delays,sudden passport border requirements and an American recession. The independence that drove the Peacemakers to life post-Refreshments kept the spirit alive providing fans the opportunity for an annual migration to RCPM’s second home of Puerto Penasco to celebrate life through rock n roll.
Discounted advance purchase tickets will be exchanged for wristbands at published Will Call locations throughout the June 6-9 weekend. Fans are encouraged to consider discounted inclusive ticket options which will allow entry to venues throughout town all weekend. Fans without event wristbands will be asked to pay cover charges to events at venues other than the Mexican Moonshine Main Stage, located across the street from Banditos at Sandy Beach. More than a dozen bands from throughout the United States will play throughout the four days and support two headline performances Friday and Saturday nights by RCPM.
