CEDO 35th Anniversary November 7th!

The Intercultural Center for the Study of Deserts and Oceans (CEDO) is readying to celebrate its 35th anniversary. Events include this weekend’s beach clean-up (Oct. 24th), an environmental contest, along with a fundraising dinner and dance on Nov. 7th.

CEDO, which promotes activities encompassing coastal and marine life conservation, research, and environmental education is currently working with communities on various projects with the goal of empowering families throughout the region whose livelihood comes from fishing.

CEDO, which is sustained independently through funds stemming from donations and activities and employs nearly 25 people, is currently carrying out programs and regional projects in the Upper Gulf of California and the Rio Colorado Delta.

CEDO also provides scientific materials to the communities with which it Works.

Among the 35th anniversary activities, CEDO will be leading volunteers in beach clean-up activities on Oct. 24th, and on November 7th dinner festivities and a silent auction will be part of the evening at CEDO with the music of Agua de Coco. Tickets $20 US, with proceeds going to help maintain CEDO’s activities.
