DIF’s annual Black & White gala, held on September 30th at Peñasco’s Expo Convention Center, reaffirmed support for the education of Puerto Peñasco’s youth by surpassing organizer expectations.

The 41st Black & White Ball, organized by the Municipal Office on Integral Family Development (DIF) presided over by Linda Pivac de Munro, was warmly received by the Puerto Peñasco community who dressed to the nines in support of this noble cause. Proceeds from the evening are to go to ongoing support of the “Student House” in Mexicali, as well as scholarships for many high school and university students here in the community.b-w-baile2 Black & White Ball reaffirms commitment to education

Host princess Roselyn opened the evening before the parade of the numerous “ambassadors” representing businesses, organizations, as well as cities including Puerto Peñasco, Caborca, Agua Prieta, Naco, and Sonoyta.  As is tradition, the 2017 Black & White Ball Queen was randomly selected by a message attached to the bouquets given to participants.  This year, Iris Chávez of Agua Prieta was awarded the honor of 2017 Black & White Ball Queen.
